Interactive poems. Symbolic actions. Invitations to shift.
Project Overview
Ritual Scrolls are short-form, interactive experiences designed as symbolic rituals. Some are digital. Others are handwritten. All are doorways.
Each scroll invites the reader to engage not just intellectually, but emotionally — to feel their way through a shift. Whether it’s grief, clarity, transition, or reconnection, each ritual is built to serve a specific emotional purpose.
Formats
- Digital Scrolls — Created in Twine, designed as poetic decision-trees. These are used in MythOS.
- Physical Scrolls — Handwritten fragments gifted or found. Each includes a sigil, a closing line, and a symbolic action.
- Hybrid Scrolls — Pages that begin in ink and continue online. Often connected by QR codes or hidden links.
Symbolic Function
Each scroll acts as a micro-ritual with a clear narrative arc and emotional function, such as:
- Grounding during overwhelm
- Letting go of a story
- Re-entering joy after burnout
- Rebuilding self-trust
They’re not instruction manuals. They’re mirrors.
Design Principles
- Accessibility over perfection — You don’t need training to engage.
- Embodiment over performance — These rituals are for the person reading, not an audience.
- Symbolism over prescription — Every scroll suggests a shift, not a solution.
Each scroll is labeled with its emotional purpose, and many are available in both print and digital form.
Sample Rituals Include:
- The Sanctuary: For emotional exhaustion
- Step Into Your Brilliance: A ritual of self-worth (available as a free download)
Relationship to Other Projects
- Part of MythOS — many scrolls are integrated into the digital operating system for emotional self-regulation.
- Linked to the Living Lore Archive — physical scrolls are tracked and registered in the archive, each with a unique fragment code.
- Collectible or Commissionable — select scrolls can be purchased or requested for private rituals, events, or rites of passage.
